October PBIS

Posted Date: 09/30/25 (04:00 PM)

Dear W.P.S Families,

As we continue working together to create a positive and respectful learning environment for all students, I’d like to share some important information regarding our October PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) activity.

Each month, we host PBIS reward events to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate positive behavior and follow our school expectations. These activities are designed to motivate, encourage, and recognize the efforts of our students who are making good choices both in and out of the classroom.

However, it's also important to reinforce accountability. For the month of October, any student who receives more than two office referrals of any kind will not be eligible to participate in the PBIS reward activity. This includes referrals for behavioral concerns, disruptions, or failure to follow school policies.

We believe strongly that rewarding positive behavior only holds meaning when expectations are clear and consequences are consistent. Therefore, students who are not meeting those expectations will not be included in this incentive. This is not meant as a punishment, but rather as a reflection of our commitment to encouraging growth, responsibility, and respect for our shared school environment.

We kindly ask that you take a few moments to review these expectations with your child(ren) and not just for this month but daily and speak with them about the importance of making positive choices each day. Your support at home reinforces the values we are promoting at school, and together, we can make a significant impact on your child’s success.

More information will be shared soon regarding the PBIS activity itself, including snow cone pricing. Proceeds from this event will benefit our wonderful W.P.S., P.T.O organization, which continues to support our school community in countless ways.

Thank you for your partnership in helping our students grow into respectful, responsible, and engaged learners. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
